The National Association of Home Builders is a trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing a national priority. Since 1942, NAHB has been serving its members, the housing industry, and the public at large.
NAHB strives to create an environment in which: All Americans have access to the housing of their choice and the opportunity to realize the American dream of homeownership. Builders have the freedom to operate as entrepreneurs in an open and competitive environment. Housing and those who provide it are recognized as the strength of the nation.
"The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association is dedicated to the promotion, advancement, education and training of the industry for the protection of the environment, and the health, safety and comfort of society."
PHCC has been advocate for plumbing, heating and cooling contractors since 1883. As the oldest trade organization in the construction industry, approximately 3,700 members nationwide put their faith in the association's efforts to lobby local, state and federal government, provide forums for networking and educational programs, and to deliver the highest quality of products and services.
Habitat for Humanity International, is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
Mennonite Central Committee - Countryside Plumbing is also actively involved in MCC projects in building homes for resale with the proceeds going to feed the hungry in the world. MCC is a relief, service, and peace agency of the North American Mennonite and Brethren in Christ churches. MCC reflects the biblical call to care for the hungry and thirsty, the stranger, the sick and those in prison.
Matthew 25:35-36 says..."I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me."
